The international conference Digital Heritage 2025, held in Siena from 8 to 13 September 2025, has been a landmark occasion for the Extended Matrix ecosystem.
For the first time, a dedicated workshop entitled “Writing Knowledge Graphs with Ease” showcased the potential of Extended Matrix in the wider cultural heritage community (conference programme). The event brought together researchers and developers to discuss semantic approaches to 3D data, and served as the stage for the presentation of two significant outcomes:
s3Dgraphy 🧩 — a new Python library designed to integrate the Extended Matrix language into external tools and workflows, supporting the creation and management of interoperable knowledge graphs.
Heriverse 🌐 — a web application based on the ATON framework, developed through the collaboration between CNR ISPC and 3D Research.
The workshop underlined how Extended Matrix is not only a formalism or a set of tools, but also a community that helps to connect infrastructures, institutions, and researchers at international level.
Both s3Dgraphy and Heriverse demonstrate how semantic approaches to 3D can contribute to the long-term sustainability, interoperability, and FAIRness of cultural heritage data.
👉 With this first official presence at Digital Heritage, Extended Matrix consolidates its role in the debate on digital cultural heritage, opening new collaborations and perspectives for the future.
